Failed Solidarity in Haiti: The ICFTU, ILO, ORIT and AFL-CIO
.A new article discussing the situation of labor in Haiti is up on Labor Notes [english] and on Rebelion and La Haine [spanish]. It expands on the role of international labor organizations in Haiti, utilizing new research and documentation.
Speaking: On June 25th I will be speaking with Anthony Fenton at the 2006 World Peace Forum held in Vancouver, Canada. Also I'm doing a talk with Purdue University Prof Kim Scipes on the Bay Area's KPFA's Flashpoints Radio show on Tuesday June 13th (5pm west coast time) , another talk with Yves Dayiti (radio show in Washington, DC) this saturday night, and I will possibly talk on "Haiti: The Struggle Continues" this weekend on New York's WBAI.
